Joseph Akeau Akau, 74 years old of Princess Kahanu Estates; Nanakuli, Hawaii. Died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Originally from Kalihi. Born and raised in Moanalua Gardens. A graduate of Farrington High School Class of 1954. Retired crane and heavy equipment operator and proud member of Union Local 3. He is survived by wife Ramona (Cummings) Akau, son Danny (Darleen) Akau, daughters Danette (Sherman) Kaahanui and Jill Rodrigues, brother Samuel K. Akau Jr., sister Agnes Young, nine grandchildren, a great grandson, numerous nieces, nephews, pet Misty and an abundance of friends. Services will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Hawaiian Memorial Park. Viewing: 5:00 p.m. Service: 6:30 p.m. Services will also be held on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Hawaiian Memorial Park. Viewing: 9:00 a.m. Service: 10:30 a.m. and burial to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Valley of the Temples.
