Ron Potter, 84, of Waianae, a Coast Guard veteran of World War II and an engineer who designed the Kaena Point tracking equipment, died. He was born in Los Angeles. He is survived by wife Avon, daughters Dana Potter-Amundson and Janis Allen, sister Darlene Thomas, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Private services. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Hawaiian Humane Society.
