BARBARA A. BURGER
Barbara A. Burger (81), retired painter and potter of Kailua died at home on September 10, 2010 of cancer after a long illness.
Born in Ventura, California on April 13, 1929, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Willamette University and a direct commission as Ensign USN in 1951.
Barbara is survived by Husband Don, their daughter Emily Sytsma of Viroqua, WI; son Fred Burger of Friendswood, TX; Brother Jere Geurin of Morehead City, NC; sisters Carol Vancil of Folsom, CA and Rosalie Tuttle of Fairview, OR; two Grandchildren and two Great-Grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at Kailua United Methodist Church on a future date to be announced. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Hawaii.
