CALVIN CHINGCALVIN CHING

Calvin Ching, 79, born and raised in Honolulu. Graduated from Hawaiian Mission Academy and attended University of Hawaii. He was a successful self- made businessman, establishing Columbia Insurance Agency, Inc. in 1962.
At a young age, he had a love of cars, racing at Kakuku Drag Strip with his buddies and brought the first Porsche to Hawaii upon return from military service in Germany.
Calvin loved life, was well-informed with many interests including real estate, tools, wine, gourmet cuisine, travel and was a life member of the National Rifle Association.
He was very active in his later years with rental properties and just returned from a trip prior to his passing.
Calvin lived a full life and will really be missed by his family and many friends.
Survived by wife, Pamela; daughters, Marion Lechner, Esther (Sissy) Elassiouti, Catharine Ching; son-in-laws, Manfred Lechner, Jack Aaron, Mike Sanbongi; grandchildren, Anna Lechner, Sharif Elassiouti, Hunter and Gabriella Ching.
Visitation: 9:30 A.M., Saturday, October 30, 2010, Oahu Cemetery Chapel, Service: 10:30 A.M., Inurnment: 11:00 A.M. Casual Attire.
