Toma Tasaki, 102, of Honolulu, born in Waimea, Big Island, died on September 21, 2010. He is survived by his wife Matsue; son Thomas; daughter Susan; and 3 grandchildren.
He was a retired public school administrator. McKinley High School 1925, University of Hawaii BA 1929, 5th year certificate 1951 Leadership Training Program 1958-1960, grad courses; Dept. of Education Management Training, Prog. Tchr. Hilo Inter. & High Schools 1929-43; Director Recreation Hilo Recreation Com. 1938-1940; Admin. Ast. Schools, Hawaii 1946-49, all on Hawaii; Principals for schools Honolulu 1951-59; Department District Supervisor Oahu Secondary Schools 1959-62, Supervising Principal secondary schools 1962-64; Principal Lanakila School 1964-71; Secretary Foremost Financial Co. since 1960. US Military Intelligence & Infantry, China-Burma India Theater; received Bronze Star 1943-45. Director Oahu Health Coun. 1962-66, Kalihi-Palama Com. Coun. Visitation will be on Friday (Oct 29) at Borthwick Mortuary at 9:30 a.m. Service will start at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Hawaii State Veteran's Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by Borthwick Mortuary.
