Maureen Mercedes Kaanoanookalani Auwae "Auntie Mercie" Keopuhiwa, 65, of Keaau, Hawaii, a retired Keaau Middle School campus security guard and an official for Moku o Hawaii Canoe Racing Association, died in Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Keaukaha, Hawaii. She is survived by son Bernard K. "Popo"; daughters Alisa-Lei and Kuuipo-Michele; brothers Henry, Allen "Ipo," Mark, Duane and Charles "Kulani"; sisters "Aunty Maile" Mauhili, Henrietta Miranda, Norma Kema, Jewellyn Leialoha, Leilani Balai and Charlotte Keo; hanai brother Ronald; hanai sister Rae Lee Awai; and four grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Saturday at Malia Puka o Kalani Catholic Church, Keaukaha. Celebration of life: 11:30 a.m. Mass: 12:30 p.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Section 7. Casual attire.
