Alvin F. Van Treese Sr., 88, of Honolulu, a retired machinist at Hickam Air Force Base and an Army veteran, died in Waipahu. He was born in Hamlin, Texas. He is survived by wife Dorothy; sons Alvin Jr. and Steven Van Treese, and Ronald and Xavier Ikei; daughters Wenonah Kina and Judith Miyashiro; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Friday at Olivet Baptist Church, 1775 S. Beretania St., Honolulu. Services: 6 p.m. Aloha attire. No flowers.
