Howard "Hanky" Hing Chun, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully from this life into eternal life with Jesus on January 4, 2011 at the Hale Pulama nursing Facility at Kuakini. He was 94 years old. "Hanky" was born in China and moved to Hawaii at age 8 with his father. He started his printing career as a salesman for the old Tongg Publishing Company and quickly adapted to the American Dream. In 1952, he and his late wife, Frances, founded Howard's Printery. Through the years he was also affililated with Hawaii Resort Industries, Royal State National Insurance and Wo Fat Restaurant. He reitred in 1990. He is survived by his son Harvey Chun; daughter Valerie (Patrick) Mathews, brother Edward Chun, sisters Rose Wong and Mabel Chun, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Family and friends are welocmed on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Diamond Head Mortuary Chapel. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at 9:30 a.m. Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Diamond Head Memorial Park. The family requests that casual or aloha attire be worn for the services.
