Age 86, of Aiea, Hawaii, passed away January 6, 2011 in Aiea. Born December 10, 1924 in Puunene, Maui. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Pearlridge Ward; she raised her family in Guam and the Philippines at Anderson & Clark Air Force Base from 1950-1969.
She is survived by sons, Paul (Airi) Kurihara, Gary (Malia) Kurihara of Utah; daughters, Denise (Barry) Mitchell, Colleen (Dennis) Ohira, Sandra Kurihara-Van Ornum, Charlene "Dawn" (Nicholas) Akana; brothers, Robert (Debbie) Yakabe, Harry Yakabe, Charles (Kay) Yakabe; sisters, Lillian Yakabe-Yoshimoto, Katherine "Kit" Yakabe-Gima, Annette Yakabe-Yamada; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation 9:00 a.m. Thursday (January 20) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (99-641 Pohue St., Aiea) Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Burial 1:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park.
