FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

DAMIAN KUALII "KUI" OSTROWSKI
DAMIAN KUALII "KUI" OSTROWSKI Damian Kualii "Kui" Ostrowski, age 43, of Aiea, Hawaii passed away on January 26, 2011. Kui was born on November 3rd 1967, the youngest child of Robert F. Ostrowski and Elizabeth Leilani Bishaw Ostrowski (deceased). Kui was welcomed into the Ostrowski family by his sister Robbie-Jean and brothers Robert Miki-oi and Dominic Hikiwawe. The family lived in Kailua just one block from the beach. Kui, blonde from the sun as a child, spent endless hours on the sands of Kailua Beach boogie boarding and later surfing. Kui attended St. Anthony's School in Kailua playing volleyball and basketball. His athletic endeavors continued in high school where he played volleyball and basketball for the Maryknoll Spartans. In 1984, Kui helped the Spartans win their only State Basketball Championship and in 1985 he was honored as ILH Player of the Year. After high school he was employed by Anheuser-Busch and later became an electrician. Kui married his high school sweetheart, Michele Dias on the grounds of Iolani Palace in 1988. Together, they had three children; Jeremiah "Miah", Raquel and Mia. Kui enjoyed trolling and deep sea fishing and for a time would make fresh poi weekly for family and friends. Early on, the family lived near a neighborhood basketball court where Kui spent many hours playing ball with the neighborhood kids and teaching his son Miah the game. Never one to sit still for long, he also enjoyed koa framing and woodworking. May we, who have been left behind, find comfort in knowing that our loss here on earth is most assuredly heaven's gain. Kui, know that you are loved dearly and you will be missed immensely by everyone who was blessed to know you. Services to be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Central Union Church, 1660 Beretania St., Honolulu, Hawaii 96814. Visitation 5:30-6:30pm. Services 6:30-7:30 pm. No flowers.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
