Herbert Toshio Ishii, 73, of Hilo, a retired Hawaii Army National Guard lieutenant colonel and civilian inspector for the Inspector General Office at Fort Shafter, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Amy; daughters Tracy McCarty and Joy Itoman; brothers Roy and Harley; sisters Nancy Okimura, Doreen Usui, Karen Matthews, Marlene Visaisouk and Roxanne Vagay; and four grandchildren. Private services. No monetary offerings. No flowers.
