Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary RUTH KAZUKO OTAKE Age 94, of Waipahu, Hawaii, passed away January 22, 2011 in Honolulu. Born May 30, 1916 in Paia, Maui. Ruth was a retired Salesperson from King Food Services. She was a chef for the former Gov. John A. Burns at Washington Place. She was also the originator of the mile-high coconut crËme pie that many tourists enjoyed during their circle island tour and having lunch at the Crouching Lion and the original Pat's at Punaluu. She was a member of Nuuanu Congregational Church. She is survived by son, Mike (Glendene) Otake; 1 grandson; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson. Visitation 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday (February 19) at Nuuanu Congregational Church (2651 Pali Hwy., Honolulu) Memorial Service 10:30 a.m. Casual Attire. No flowers, please.
