73Bertha Takata, 94, of Hilo, a retired substitute teacher for public schools on the Big Island, died in Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by daughters Jeanne Fujii, Marjorie Olson and Valerie Takata; brother Eddie Matsumoto; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Private services. No flowers. No monetary offerings.
