AMES ARLEN SCOTT
66, of Honolulu died Feb 9th. Ames is survived by his loving Ohana, his cousins in Minnesota & California, and his I.A.T.S.E. Union brothers.
Ames grew up from small kid time through high school attending Punahou. He spent many early adult years volunteering in Community Theatre; it was then he caught the theatre bug. He joined the union after years of working in rock 'n roll, movies, and corporate theater where he became a permanent fixture at the Hawaii Opera Theatre, lighting the world of the performers.
In 1983 he married Patti Coons. They spent the last several years traveling. His favorite experience: full day tour of the Sydney Opera House. His best-loved place in Hawaii was watching the gentle rain from the porch of their home in Volcano on the Big Island.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in memory of Ames Scott to the Hawaii Opera Theatre, 848 South Beretania St., #303 Honolulu Hi 96813. His Celebration of Life services will be held at the Outrigger Canoe Club with an 8:00 am call, Monday February 21st with Ames' wrap party to be held next door at the Elks Club at 9:30. Please park at the Elks club if you are planning to attend both.
