BENJAMIN SAY BUN YEE
BENJAMIN SAY BUN YEE Ben (Uncle Bunny) passed away on February 5, 2011 at age 75. Born in Honolulu on July 30, 1935, Ben graduated from Kaimuki High School and Chaminade University. Served in the U.S. Air Force for 8 years and retired as a Lieutenant in the Honolulu Police Department after 25 years. Ben was a helping hand to all his friends and relatives; and was an active member of the Kailua Senior Citizens Club and Choral Group. Survived by son Robin (Tonya); daughter Joni Pulani (Alan) Cumpston; grandchildren Mahina (Lucas) Sayin, Kainoa Cumpston and Malea Yee; a great-grandchild on the way; brothers Charles (Ernestine) and Walter (Ursula); sisters Gwen (Raymond) Leong, Angie Kau, May (Herman) Nii and Nannette (Norman) Koga; brother-in-law Harry Haynes; sister-in-laws Nancy Yee, Clara Yee and Dorothy Kahoiwai; 25 nephews and nieces; and many grandnephews and grandnieces. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Paahana in 2007; brothers Chungy and Ted; and brother-in-law Kulina Kau. VISITATION 10:00 A.M.; MASS 11:30 A.M. ON SATURDAY MARCH 5 AT ST. JOHN VIANNEY CHURCH, 920 Keolu Drive in Kailua. Private inurnment at Hawai'i State Veterans Cemetery. No flowers.
