It is with profound sadness to hear the passing of Wally Yonamine, my hero and dear friend. I try to bear in mind what a great achievement it is to live one's life well---and Wally certainly illustrated that belief. The man who changed Japanese baseball, and affected my life into love of the game since he tapped my head gently at Kourakuen Stadium over a half century ago. I mourn his passing but we should also try to celebrate how fully he put our lives to splendid use.
