FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Dianne Dahlberg Simmons
DIANNE DAHLBERG SIMMONS Of Waikoloa, Hawaii, formerly of Honolulu, passed away in July, 2010. Born in Lihue, Kauai, she was a 1963 graduate of Waimea High School. She received her BBA from the University of Hawaii and an MBA from Chaminade University. Dianne was Personnel Manager for Sea Mobility, Inc. and U S Marine Management, Inc. She later worked as a field underwriter with Mutual of New York and a registered representative with The Guardian. She also formed two investment clubs for women. An active community volunteer, Dianne sat on the Boards of the Honolulu Zoo Hui, Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii, and Family Support Services of West Hawaii. She served as president of the Bishop Museum Service Board and the Junior League of Honolulu. She was Chair of the Board for the American Cancer Society, Hawaii Pacific Corporation, and a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Dianne was preceded in death by her beloved son Steven S. Simmons. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, March 8 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the AAUW Building, 1802 Keeaumoku Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Junior League of Honolulu, the American Cancer Society Hawaii Pacific Corporation or the University of Hawaii Foundation for the Dianne D. Simmons Endowed Scholarship are suggested.
