Gerald Yoshinobu Ota, 91, of Honolulu, a retired federal Department of Defense estimator and planner at Fort Shafter, died. He also was an Army veteran who served in World War II and member of Company C, 1399th Engineer Construction Battalion. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Lillian S., son Glenn, daughter Carol Hirashima, sisters Asako Takane and Mashiko Abe, five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Private services.
