Masaichi "Tom" Matsuura, 89, of Hilo, a retired general contractor and Army veteran of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team who served in World War II, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Honomu, Hawaii. He is survived by son Ronald; daughters Leatrice Komatsu and Sandra Hirano; stepsons Rodney, Wesley and Elvis Kimura; brother Haruo; sisters Shizue Oshita, Fumiko Imada and Yukiko Maeda; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
