HALE KINIMAKA
HALE KINIMAKA Age 48. Harold Eleakala "Hale" Kinimaka, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2011, in Anyer, Indonesia where he was the general manager of the resort "HAWAII" a Club Bali Resort. Born in Los Angeles, California to parents, Iva Kinimaka and Sylvia Shodahl Nam.A graduate of Kamehameha Schools and later served six years of honorable service in the United States Air force. Hale's life spanned many years in the food and beverage industry and managerial positions at such notable restaurants as Dukes of Waikiki, Ruby Tuesday (Mililani), Ceasars Palace & The Harrah's in Las Vegas, and also Studebakers Nightclub in Honolulu and Sydney, Australia, also international hotels in Hong Kong and Indonesia where he died. Hale grew up from a musical family of his uncle's Dutchie, Percy Leleo, Kalani and Titus Kinimaka. Aunts Maile, kumu hula Keala Senkus, Kapu Alquiza, Nani Davis, (Kinimaka) of Kauai and his dad entertainer Iva Kinimaka. Music and singing was a passion with Hale and you could always find him on a karaoke stage belting out the likes of Frank Sinatra tunes with gusto. Mister Moonlite. He is survived by parents Iva Kinimaka and Sylvia Shodahl Nam. Sisters, Dr. Chamonix "Mele" Kinimaka (Anke), Cheyenne Pauahi, Chenoa Kaiulani and brother Iva Paiea. Half-sisters Noelani Nam, Punialoha Starwood And half-brother Nathan "Bubi" Nam. Memorial services and celebration of Hale's life will be held at the Waikiki Elks Club on April 14, 2011 at 9: a.m. Services at 10:00 a.m. Scattering of his ashes will be held off shore of the Elks Club, followed by a celebration of his life with a reception of mea a' i (food) and mele (music), at the club dining room.
