Edward Q. Caranto Sr., 84, of California City, Calif., formerly of Pearl City, a retired Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Shop 99 supervisor and a retired Navy veteran, died in Los Angeles. He was born in San Carlos, Pangasinan, Philippines. He is survived by wife Nena, sons Edward Jr. and Bart, daughters Edna Caranto-Oda and Dona Ramalho, six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Private services held in California.
