Eugene Etsuo “Scratch†Echevary, 62, of Kailua, a carpenter and an Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War, died at home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by companion Doris Y. Muramoto, son Anson E., stepdaughters Sharlene C. Tamashiro and Sheryl S. Hufalar, mother Helen T., brother Eric I., sister Althea E. Masaki, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Visitation: 5 p.m. Wednesday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Services: 6 p.m. Casual attire. No flowers.
