83, died May 11th, 2011 of lung cancer (never smoked). Born in Wailuku, Maui Dec 12, 1927. Attended Kaunoa, Baldwin and Maui High schools. WW II and Korean army veteran. U. of Hawaii and Cornell Master of Civil Engineering.
Deputy Director Building, City of Honolulu, 10 year employee. Construction project engineer for Beretania North and Sears Service Center. Waikiki Swim Club, Top Ten Master swimmer US for 35 years, Hawaii Swimming Hall of Fame, Director and coordinator for The Waikiki Roughwater Swim for 10 years (swam it 18 times), Boy Scoutmaster 4 years St. Anthony Church Kailua, competed in numerous triathlons and marathons. Avid tennis player, Master Points Bridge Player. Married Peggy Kennedy (deceased).
Survived by children Matt, Ellen, Andy, 5 grandchildren, sisters Dawn Howell, Doris Rygh and Claire Borglin. NO SERVICES
