Gary Alvin Kanehoalani Kawelo Sr., also known as “Da Cuz†and “Uncle G,†64, of Kaneohe, a retired Honolulu Board of Water Supply lead pipe fitter and an Air Force veteran, died in Kaneohe. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Vera; sons Lonnie Vertido, Shane Reams, and Gary Jr. and Thadd “Maka†Kawelo; daughters Kimberly, Katherine “Loke†and Jordan “Makamaeâ€; brothers Roy, Rodney, Richard and Glance; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Services: 6:30 p.m. Committal services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe. Aloha attire.
