WILLIAM TELL ABBEY
WILLIAM TELL ABBEY William Tell Abbey, age 73, of Marion Center, PA, formerly of Honolulu, HI, died Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was born in 1937 in Home, PA to Paul and Mildred Postlewaite Abbey. Bill was a graduate of Marion Center HS and the Indiana State Teachers College (IUP), and was employed as a teacher at the Wheeler AFB Intermediate School in Wahiawa, HI for 33 years, retiring in 1995. As an earth science teacher, he was always eager to share his knowledge of geography, geology, and astronomy. Bill had an ability to make learning science fun and interesting for his students. Mr. Abbey is survived by two sons and one daughter, Christopher Abbey and wife Shanelle, Ewa Beach, HI; Angeli Abbey, Mililani, HI; Gerard Abbey and wife Elaine, Cincinnati, OH; seven grandchildren, Rayn and Ravyn Celestino, Stancen, Gabriella, Gianna, Shalia, and Casen Abbey; one brother and one sister, Howard Abbey and wife Iva, Chambersville, PA; Nancy Abbey, Santa Cruz, CA; and by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge his nephew, Joseph Abbey and wife Laura, Home, PA, for their support. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by two brothers Edward and John Abbey.
