Sakai Wakakuwa, 93, of Hilo, a retired Hamakua Davies Sugar Co. supervisor and an Army veteran who served in World War II in the 100th Infantry Battalion, Company D, died at home. He was born in Kapehu, Hawaii. He is survived by son Earl; daughter Sandra “Sandy” Mori; brother Satoru; sisters Hatsuno Kodani, Midori “Doris” Kojima and Amy Spencer; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation: 3 p.m. Wednesday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Services: 5 p.m. Casual attire.
