74Arnold John Baines, 80, of Kahului, a retired high school teacher for the San Mateo Union High School District, died at home. He was born in San Francisco. He is survived by sons James Kent, Harold "Kent" McGroarty, and Keoni and Aaron Baines; daughters Mary S. Mahelona, Shirley Chidester and Sharon May; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Maui Veterans Cemetery.
