David Haili Ka‘awa III

David Haili "Bulu" Ka‘awa III, 66, of Naalehu, Hawaii, an Isemoto Construction Co. heavy-equipment operator and former employee at Christian Twigg-Smith Earth Moving, Kau Plantation and Honomalino Farm, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Kona. He is survived by wife Madeline; sons David H. "Bulu Boy" IV, Garry D.K. and Laizer M. Ka‘awa, and Phillip Vierra; daughter Angela K.; father David H. Jr.; brothers Dennis, Dave, Larry and Eric; sisters Sarah Lazar, Doris Silva, Stephanie Mento, and Verna, Evon and Gail Ka‘awa; and nine grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Friday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kau Ward, Naalehu. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Naalehu Community Cemetery. Casual attire.
