HAMILTON ALBERT SCHUBERTHAMILTON ALBERT SCHUBERT
Age 87, lived 42 years in Ewa Beach, passed away June 22, 2011 at Tripler Army Medical Center. Born Deccember 12, 1923 in Geronimo, Texas. Chief Schubert ATC was a 31 year veteran of the U.S. Navy. He entered the Navy in September 1941, months before the outbreak of WWII. He served in that conflict in radio communications and electronics, and served on the USS Petrov Bay as well as being an instructor for many years. His service also included aviation electronics during the Korean War where he worked on spying operations. He arrived in Hawaii with his family in 1969.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Madelyne in 1972 survived by sons: Glenn Schubert of Hawaii Kai and Gregory Schubert of Midway Atoll, one granddaughter Glenna Schubert of Washington D.C. and one grandson Robert J. Sofaly of Columbus, GA. He was preceded in death by his second wife Elizabeth in 2009 and is survived by stepchildren: Christina Meller of Honolulu, Ronald Ariola of Ewa Beach, Leonard Ariola of Ewa Beach, Lydia Kapalolu of Ewa Beach and many step-grand and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Lorene French of Austin, TX, sisters-in-law Geraldine Schubert of San Antonio, TX and Lana St. George of Alemeda, CA. He will be greatly missed. There will be a small family service at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery 45-349 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, HI.
Visitation 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday July 8 at Mililani Downtown Mortuary. Committal Service 10:00 a.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery. Casual Attire.
