FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Richard T. Iwamoto
RICHARD T. IWAMOTO Richard T. Iwamoto (80), loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011 in Huntington Beach, CA. He was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. Richard attended McKinley High School and later graduated from the University of Hawaii. He served in the Army at Schofield Barracks. Richard married Rose (Hamada) and they moved to Ohio where he attended the University of Cincinnati Law School. He took a job as an attorney for the US Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. He was active in the Hawaii State Society and Methodist Church. Richard retired after 30 years and moved to Huntington Beach. He worked part time at the OC Law Library and also as a movie extra. He helped organize the McKinley Alumni Association of Los Angeles. We will remember Richard's witty conversation and sense of humor; his strength and dedication to his family; his keen interest in current events; his love of Hawaiian food and music, camping, fishing, golfing and raising orchids. He especially enjoyed activities with his grandchildren and was proud of their achievements. Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Rose; and his daughter, Joyce. He is survived by his children, Ross Iwamoto (Dianne), Gail Smith (Jim); grandchildren, Matthew and Joy; brothers, Ralph, Reynold, Robert and sister, Bernice Buxbaum. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 am Sat., July 16, 2011 at Dilday Chapel, 17911 Beach Blvd., Huntington Beach, CA.
