82Joseph Charles Scanlan, 65, of Honolulu, a former Honolulu police officer, died in Kuakini Medical Center. He was born in American Samoa. He is survived by companion Eli; son Jason “Mosi”; stepdaughter Lelani Esterline; brothers Jerry and Tafu; sisters Maude TuÂÂiÂpala, Mavis Palakiko, Sina Afe, Robyn Tatupu-Suka and Jolyn Scanlan-Sevao; and six grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Waipahu. Casual attire. No flowers.
