72Melvin R. “Mel” Higashi, 66, of Honolulu, a retired Hawaiian Electric Co. supervisor dispatcher, died in the Queen’s Medial Center. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Joyce S., son Ryan M., daughter Shari M. and two grandchildren. Visitation: 10 a.m. Sunday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Services: 11 a.m. Casual attire.
