HAROLD
MEYER, JR.
Harold Meyer, Jr., 76, a retired Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Planner & Estimator-Electrician and Navy veteran, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2011 at his home. Born on July 7, 1935 in Honolulu.
He was the son of the late Harold Meyer, Sr. of Waianae and Jennie (Akeo) Meyer of Honolulu. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Chung Won ("Wonnie"), brothers Jacob and Daniel Sr, sister Sarah L. Teixeira, nephews, nieces and in-laws.
As Interior Communications Electrician 1st Class onboard the USS Sargo (SSN 583), Harold planted the Hawaiian flag at the North Pole on February 9, 1960.
Visitation: 11 a.m. Thursday, August 4th at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Service: 12 noon. Interment: 3 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Aloha attire requested. In lieu of flowers or monetary offerings, donations may be made in his memory to the University of Hawaii Foundation/ Cancer Center, P.O. Box 11270, Honolulu, HI 96828-0270.
