John Howard Thomas, 84, of Kailua, a retired teacher with Kamehameha Schools and the Department of Defense Dependents Schools, and a Marine Corps veteran, died in Tripler Army Medical Center. He was born in Chicago. He is survived by daughters Susan Stern, Betsy Thomas and Tori Thompson; sisters Joyce Newlander and Rosa�lie Heard; and four grandchildren. Private services.
