Gilbert Mahane Pine, 85, of Honolulu, a retired merchant seaman and an Army veteran, died in Waipahu. He was born in Hawaii. He is survived by daughters Vanessa Kawamura, Paulette M. DeRosa, and Denise and Thelma Santos; stepsons Bernard Young and Donald Muraco; brother Peter Kahanaoi; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Saturday at Oahu Cemetery Chapel. Services: 6 p.m. Casual attire.
