Margaret B. “Aunty Kaula” Chun, 79, of Haleiwa, a Waimea Valley historian kupuna and master weaver of lau hala, died in Honolulu. She was born in Kukuihaile, Hawaii. She is survived by sons Douglas, Morris, Warren and Samson Chun, and Ikaika Dupont-Chun; daughters Lynette, Jewel and Donna M. Chun, Marlene Cummings and Rayann Quick; brothers Royden and Aukele Burke; sisters Marjorie Spencer, Rowena Rachal and Patricia Miller; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Celebration of life and scattering of ashes: 9 a.m. Saturday at Alii Beach Park, Haleiwa, near the harbor. Casual attire. Loose flowers welcome.
