Daniel Takeru Shigeta, 82, of Kahului, a retiree of the University of Hawaii Cooperative Extension Service and Agricultural Experiment Station on Maui, died in Kahului. He also was a retired major in the Army Reserve. He was born in Halaula, Kohala, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Grace E.; sons Glenn S., Paul Y. and Craig T.; sister Minnie Matsumoto; and three grandchildren. Visitation: 4 p.m. Monday at Nakamura Mortuary. Services: 5 p.m. Burial at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl, at a later date.
