Jane was born in Los Angeles, California to Helen and Charles Suhr. She was raised in Beverly Hills, graduated from Marlborough School and attended UCLA. She lived in Beverly Hills until 1971 and then moved to Honolulu with the love of her life and second husband, Herbert Dimmitt, who preceded her in death. They are now reunited.
Jane leaves 6 children, Victoria Strickland (Guy), Garrett Dimmitt (Sue), Richard Porter (Jennifer), Joni Dimmitt (Melinda), Robert Porter (Nancy) and Herbert H. Dimmit (Denise). She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Jane is also survived by her twin sister, Mrs. Thomas Trainer and many nieces and nephews and 2 calabash kids.
She was known to all as "Tutu" or Janee. She had a wonderful love of life, travel and family. These last few years she remained close to home due to health reasons and was grateful for family visits and helpful caregivers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marlborough School , 250 South Rossmore, Los Angeles, CA 90004 or to St. Louis School, Development office, (in memory of Jane Dimmitt), 3142 Waialae Avenue, Honolulu 96816.
