Masao Asato, 83, of Hilo, a retired Unisys field service engineer and an Army veteran who served in the Korean War, died at home. He was born in Lahaina. He is survived by wife Mieko, son Arnold, daughters Lori Hamada and Joanne Yoshiyama, brother Masanobu, five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Visitation: 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Services: 5 p.m. Graveside committal services and burial: noon Monday at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
