Thelma Phillips Camara passed away peacefully at Aloha Nursing and Rehab in Kaneohe on October 7, 2011. She was born on July 9, 1917 in Honolulu to Manuel de Camara and Gussie Phillips Camara. She is also predeceased by her two brothers and sister-in-law, Lionel Phillips (Mary Serrao) Camara, former Tax Compliance Coordinator for the Oahu State Tax Office, and Clifford Bernard Camara, former Pearl Harbor Shipyard Analyst and Scheduler.
She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. She is survived by her four nieces: Mary Ann Camara Lopes and Cheryl L. Camara, & Sylvia D. Camara and Priscilla M. Camara Brede, sister-in-law Jessie M. Camara and several cousins, grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 12 noon to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, October 22 at Central Union Atherton Chapel. Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m. Burial: 3:00 p.m., Hawaiian Memorial Park, Kaneohe. Aloha Attire. No flowers. Online condolences: www.borthwickoahu.com.
