FREDERICK SHOJI YOSHIOKA
(1930-2011)
Frederick Shoji Yoshioka, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on August 16, 2011 in La Palma, CA. Fred was the son of Tsunesuke and Tsuruko (Iwahiro) Yoshioka and was born on April 8, 1930 in Honolulu, HI. He graduated from McKinley High School in 1948. He served, with honors, in the Air Force as Airman First Class stationed in Korea and Japan from 1948-1952. Fred married Mildred M. Hino on October 28, 1961 in Los Angeles, CA. He was an avid bowler in both L.A. and Orange Counties. Fred joins their daughter, Rhonda Michelle Matsuo, in heaven and is survived by his beloved wife, Millie, granddaughter, Courtney Matsuo, son-in-law Ricki Matsuo of Elk Grove, CA, his daughter Carol Shimabukuro, grandsons Jake and Bruce and great grandson, Kylen. Fred's surviving siblings include sisters Ethel Uemura and Ellen Kim and brothers Masato, Nelson, Ronald, and Lawrence Yoshioka, all currently residing in Honolulu, HI. A memorial service is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011 at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, 2177 Puowaina Drive, Honolulu, HI 96813-1729. No Flowers. "Casual Attire".
