Yoshio "Paul" Makida, 85, of Hilo, a retired newspaper composer at Hawaii Tribune-Herald in Hilo, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Toshiko, son Gordon, daughter Kelly Wilson, brother Shoichi, sister Nora Murashima and three grandchildren. Private services. No flowers. No monetary offerings.
