Joseph "Uncle Joe" Santiago, 97, of Ho-nolulu, a retired heavy-equipment operator for the Department of Defense Public Works Center at Pearl Harbor and a Navy Seabee veteran who served in the Korean War, died in Honolulu. He was born in Pahala, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Violet, sons Henry and Jovi, daughters Lehua Carpentier and Julie Oba, sisters Catherine Young and Florence Buyuan, two grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, a great-grandchild and a stepgreat-grandchild. Visitation: 5 p.m. Friday at Hawaiian Pentecostal Full Gospel Assembly, 1159 Gulick Ave. Services: 7 p.m. Additional visitation: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
