JEWELLE YAEKO YAMADA

Jewelle Yaeko Yamada, a retired Shriner's Children's Hospital nurse, died at her home in Hawaii Kai. She was 76. Born in Hilo, Hawaii, she graduated from Hilo High School and went on to get a nursing degree from Hamline University of Minnesota, and worked at Asbury Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. After returning to Hawaii, where she raised her family, she continued her nursing career as a registered nurse at Queens Medical Center, Arcadia Retirement Facility and Shriner's Children's Hospital, where she retired after almost 20 years in pediatric orthopedics.
She is survived by husband, Henry H. Yamada, two daughters, Jewelle K. Emanuel of Scarsdale, New York and Pamela A. Baysa of Torrance, California and one granddaughter, Jennifer J. Baysa.
