SEIJI MOTOKI
Seiji Motoki, age 97, was born in Honolulu on November 22, 1914 to Sakari and Hisako Monden Motoki. He was the oldest of three children followed by brother; Tojiro Motoki and sister Matsue Higa. He was married to Marietta Takako (Shida) In 1942 and had four children Richard, Gordon, Marian and Eric.
Seiji attended Punahou School till his sophomore year then continued and graduated at Roosevelt High School. In 1952 he and two other principals started the Continental Insurance Agency of Hawaii, Ltd serving as the Executive Vice President. He served as President of the Board of Underwriters of Hawaii, was a member of the advisory committee of the State Insurance Bureau, and taught several courses at the University of Hawaii on workmen's compensation and casualty courses. He was a board member at Kuakini Hospital and former trustee of Kuakini Health Systems. He was also active with the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts of Hawaii and YMCA for many years.
Seiji is survived by children: Richard (Virginia); Gordon; Marian Auyong (Wilben); Eric (Rosella); 8 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Visitation 5:00pm Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel, on Wednesday January 4th, Service to follow at 6:00pm. Casual attire.
