Samuel "Sam" Makaiwa, 86, of Wahiawa, a city retiree and an Army veteran who served in World War II, died in Wahiawa General Hospital. He was born in Makawao, Maui. He is survived by the Makaiwa, Kalua-Robello and Keawe families. Burial services: 11 a.m. Friday at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe.
