Andrew Lyall Temple, also known as A.L. Temple, 86, of Kaneohe, a retired director of education for Far East Forces Headquarters, including Hawaii, and a Navy veteran who served in World War II, died in Kailua. He was born in Livingston, Mont. He is survived by wife Esther; daughters Lyallyn and Paula Temple, Andra Smith and Tamara T. McIlhenny; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Kailua United Methodist Church, 1110 Kailua Road. Services: 3 p.m. Reception to follow. Committal services: 2 p.m. Jan. 9 at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe.
