D.W. "Whitey" Rose, 86, of Hilo, a retired general manager at the former Hilo Motors, partner at Realty Investment Co. Ltd. and a Navy veteran, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. He is survived by wife Lauretta "Rita," daughter Pat Jamesson, sister Grace Jameyson, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. No services.
