Edward Leon Surls, 54, of Mountain View, Hawaii, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son Johnny K.L.; daughters Tammy Ramirez, Kuuipo Surls-Kane and Edwinda K. Surls; brother James L.; sisters Bernadette F. Surls and Brenda L. Kaetsu; and 13 grandchildren. Private services held.
