AMY MUI FAH CHOY WONGAMY MUI FAH CHOY WONG
Age 67, of Honolulu, passed away December 13, 2011 in Manoa. Born August 20) 1944. Graduate of Saint Francis Convent School (1962), Chaminade University of Honolulu (1966 - Bachelor of Arts in education); Loyola University University of Los Angeles (1972 - Master's Degree in Counseling and Guidance). She began her teaching career in Los Angeles
before returning to Hawaii to teach Social Studies at 'Ilima Intermediate. She then worked as a counselor at Red Hill and Queen Ka'ahumanu Elementary, from which she retired in 2002. After retiring from the DOE she continued to serve Hawaii's youth as a part-time teacher at Kaewai Elementary. Amy was a member of the Wong Kong Har Tong Society.
She is survived by husband William King Cho Wong, son Matthew Wong, daughter Christy (Scott) Yee; brothers Gilbert Choy, Daniel Choy, Ralph (Genny) Choy of Long Beach, CA; sister Doris (Richard) Tachera; nieces and nephews.
Visitation at 9:00 am to 10:00 am Saturday (January 21) at St. Pius X Church, 2821 Lowrey Avenue in Manoa. Mass to follow by Father Gordian Carvalho. Casual attire. Burial at 1: 15 p.m.; Diamond Head Memorial Park.
